Deogarh: Land of Forests and Falls
The hilly district of Deogarh in western Odisha is a quiet counterpoint to the temple circuit: densely forested hills at the Chota Nagpur edge, scored by perennial streams that drop as a chain of waterfalls. Tourism infrastructure is light, which is precisely its appeal to trekkers and birders.

Planning a visit
Base yourself at Deogarh town for the waterfalls; combine with Sambalpur for the Hirakud Dam and Samaleswari Temple — both within a two-hour drive.
