ଗହିରମଣ୍ଡଳ ସମୁଦ୍ର ଅଭୟାରଣ୍ୟ (Marine Sanctuary) ୧୯୯୭ରେ ସ୍ଥାପିତ ହୋଇଥିଲା। ମାଛ ଧରା ନିଷେଧ, ବୋଟିଂ ନିୟନ୍ତ୍ରଣ — କଛୁଆ ସଂରକ୍ଷଣରେ ସରକାର ଓ ବନ ବିଭାଗ ସକ୍ରିୟ।The Gahirmatha Marine Sanctuary was established in 1997. Fishing is prohibited and boating is regulated — the government and forest department are active in turtle conservation.
